Pope Says Planet Needs to be Saved from Gays and Transsexuals

Where is the God? Who is the God? How familiar are you with the God? You may answer fluently, but all what you say just bases on yourself, on your feelings, on your faith. Thus, can you show me an substantial proof that would lead me to the God? I just want to talk to him, not to you. Cuz you are not authoritative, there being no qualification you own to take place of the God! How dare you acclaim that what you said is what the God think about?

Well, once it turns to something unreachable, such as the God, I won't argue much against it. I don't believe in God, and do never be forced to believe in it. Meanwhile, I promise I won't offend your faith, so please protect my own faith accordingly.

Year of the ox

I don't know what the ox really stands for, flourishing prediction, similar to bull, or just turbulent one. This essay details the sensitive moments next year for the ruling party. To my interest, the date of June 4th, 20 anniversary of the Tiananmen Square Suppression, I don't know if the authority would be more generous to allow people hold more memorial mass or activities. I know Ding Zilin, famous as so-called Tiananmen Mother, was permitted to take a memorial action for her son ,who was killed during the riot in 1989,  in Tiananmen Square this year, and then what will happen next year?

Almost ten years ago, as a junior middle school student, by my teacher I was told that the details of that event may be emitted. But it turned out that my teacher was too naive. However, if the flagrant suppression keeps a secret ahead, the CCP keeps to appear a fool as well.

Russia’s Liberals Lose Their Voice

I do appreciate Russia's, or even say Putin's, way, in which the government successfully controled the opposition. Not only is the opposition leader subjected to Putin, but also the absolute majority approve of the government. While we are stressing to construct a harmonious society, the strategy we take is to suppress the dissenter, to block any words that offend the ruling party, to prison the activists who pose a danger to the regime. See, what the authoritative Kremlin do to the opposition. At least, the government never shut up the door all the way, if necessary, the opposition given the ground to play some roles in the governmental action. Besides, Putin founded an "imitation" of opposition party Right Cause to people who want to declaim their dissatisfaction.

The news seen from NYTIMES.COM, a news site which was unavailable during last several days for mainland people due to some flagrant excuses, exposes the politically ideological collision between US and Russia, which you can smell out in the essay.

Toyota Expects Its First Loss in 70 Years

Toyota, for the first time in 80 years, annouced that it would have a fiscal loss year. the maket came across a severely downturn both abroad and home. according to this report, the finacial crisis will at least last till next June. though most of the analysts call it a finacial crisis, it is almost a economic crisis yet. after the great banks turned down, the manufacturers are sensing the giant cold winds. several weeks ago, Japanese government, with much confidence, stressed that its finacial system was the best of all. now, see, the U.S crisis doesn't matter your banks a lot, but matters your factories directly.
It may be the same for China. Several weeks ago, we comforted ourselves with almost the same words as Japanese, however, we confess we are suffering a great pain now.

After 30 Years, Economic Perils on China’s Path

A modest piece of report which concerns both with Chinese economic problems and political issues, especially the democratization. it seems that the reporter is set in Guangdong province and the essay talks Gd province most. Yet a pioneer, if turning down economically, will affect the others severely. numerous migrants return inland, due to the closing of factories. the economic situation may become worse, so the political issue is left aside. this essay quotes a domestic professor and a foreign one as saying that both democratization and stability are worth valuing for China.

Supersarko leaves the podium

During his 2007 election campaign, Mr Sarkozy promised to be tough on both。 Yet despite his often strained ties with Chancellor Angela Merkel, Mr Sarkozy seems to find it hard to resist taunting her. Last month, amid frustration over Germany’s reluctance to do more to stimulate its economy, Mr Sarkozy said in front of her that “France is working on it; Germany is thinking about it.”

The millitary v tourism on Hainan island

The obsession with military secrecy sits oddly with China’s efforts to turn Hainan, which is about the size of Sri Lanka and sits on China’s southernmost fringes, into an international tourism hotspot.

Bush Frustrated By Mother's Constant Questioning Of His Plans Post-White House。 Every time I see her it's 'have you thought about your future' this, and 'do you know where you're gonna put your presidential library' that," "It's like, I'll just get a job as a CEO or board chairman or something. My God, quit worrying about it. I'm 62 years old, for Christ's sake!"

China and India: Suddenly Vulnerable

India has a big advantage over China in coping with an economic slowdown. It has all-too extensive experience in it; and it has a political system that can cope with disgruntlement without suffering existential doubts. India pays an economic price for its democracy. Decision-making is cumbersome. And as in China, unrest and even insurgency are widespread. But the political system has a resilience and flexibility that China’s own leaders, it seems, believe they lack. They are worrying about how to cope with protests. India’s have their eyes on a looming election.。 不过里面的有一些批评,说中国的4万亿刺激计划是all mouth and no trousers(为了这个idiom,与个朋友论了好久,后来确定文中用法是错误的,正确的该为all mouth and trousers,意为“光说不做”)。看其分析,说许多刺激措施都是老调,即使没发生经济危机,中国也会实施那样的经济政策:much of it made up by old budget commitments, double-counting and empty promises. It was thus mainly propaganda, to convince China’s own people and the outside world that the government was serious about stimulating demand at home. That may yet prove to be unfair: what matters is when infrastructure money is spent, not when it is announced. Yet there is little sign that the regime is ready to take radical steps in the two areas that would do most to persuade the rural majority to spend its money rather than hoard it: giving farmers better rights over their land; and providing a decent social safety-net, especially in health care. 。
